FUB's "Bryophyte" section is your partner for monitoring projects, the protection of species and nature conservation, wherever moss or liverwort species and/or vascular plants have to be considered.
In many habitats, bryophytes are especially reliable indicators for a range of environmental influences (nitrogen input, state of nature value, water balance, etc). In some ecosystems, such as wetlands and certain types of forests, the number of bryophyte species – and sometimes even the bryophyte biomass – exceeds the number and/or biomass of other plant species. Bryophytes are an important part of native biodiversity and should therefore be taken into account when defining nature protection zones and supervising protection measures.
FUB has a wealth of experience in surveying and mapping plant ecosystems as well as in monitoring the effectiveness of nature conservation. FUB stands for high quality and trustworthy work from planning to fieldwork, statistical analyses, evaluation, interpretation and final reports.
